The 5'1" tall, budding actress, Riya Sen is a grand daughter of legendary film actress Suchitra Sen and daughter of Moon Moon Sen. In the film she enacts an interesting character of a girl who lives a dysfunctional life, running away from cops and drowning her pain in the bottle of wine. Despite the fact that Kangna is not from a filmi background and has no real acting experience, Basu decided to cast her in his film.Kangna Ranaut has gotten her foot in the Bollywood door with Mahesh Bhatt ’s film Gangster, in which she plays a gangster’s woman. It was there Basu spotted Kangna and called her for the audition. Filmmaker Anurag Basu, who had already directed a successful film, Murder, was keeping an open eye for the heroine of his next movie Gangster. It happened in September 2005, when Kangna was drinking coffee with one of her friends at a café in Mumbai.

She did her schooling from Shimla.She did harbour a dream of acting, a dream that brought her to Delhi where she learnt acting while doing theatre.Then Kangna took another step and came to Mumbai to try her luck in films.
